Dr Jayne Lysk
I am an experienced educator, curriculum designer, and academic with over three decades of teaching experience across diverse educational settings, from kindergarten to postgraduate levels, both in Australia and internationally. With a unique educational trajectory as an immigrant, mature-age student, and overseas scholar- I bring a deeply empathetic and inclusive perspective to teaching and learning and working with others. I hold a Graduate Diploma Education (Humanities, Chinese & TESOL), a Master of Arts in Asian and Pacific Studies, and a Doctor of Education. Most of my career has been dedicated to the scholarship of teaching and learning in higher education.
I have taught and supported a broad spectrum of learners, including newly arrived migrants, international students, adult learners, and individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. My work spans educational leadership, project management, learning design, development, and delivery of award-winning curricula, educational interventions, and work-integrated learning initiatives. I am committed to equity, inclusive, innovative, and research-informed pedagogies, and have led and contributed to faculty and professional development programs that enhance learner outcomes and both industry and institutional engagement.
Dr Renata Aliani
I am an experienced educator, researcher, and academic project manager specialising in languages education, bilingual education, and teacher professional learning across early childhood, primary, secondary, and tertiary contexts. A native speaker of Italian, I have been involved in primary-level languages programs in Victoria since their inception in 1983 and have extensive experience teaching Italian as both a first and second language.My research interests centre on bilingual education, language program delivery and evaluation, teacher training, and leadership. She spent many years with the Victorian Department of Education in roles spanning classroom teaching, curriculum writing, policy development, consultancy, and large-scale projects. Alongside my research, I have taught languages methodology at tertiary level first at La Trobe University and then at the University of Melbourne and continues to lead and collaborate on cross-faculty research projects that inform policy, practice, and public discourse.I am widely recognised as an expert in Q methodology, having used it since 2005, and is the convenor of the Q Research Group (Q Down Under) providing an ongoing forum for discussion and professional development for Q researchers nationally and internationally.
